To submit an idea, please click the Submit New Idea button at the top of the navigation sidebar. You will then be asked to add a title and choose a campaign for the new idea. You will also have the option to add tags to the idea. To vote on an idea, simply click the up or down arrows to the right of the idea title/description. And to add a comment, click in the box below the idea.

If you would like to see all ideas created with a specific tag, you can click on the word or phrase via the tagcloud in the navigation sidebar area under "What we're discussing". You can also view ideas sorted by Campaigns from the right navigation area. To return to this page, click the All Ideas link.

Recognize and Promote Innovation

DHS culture is risk averse. This attitude is pervasive in some areas more than others regardless of mission. Let's change this culture to one that recognizes and promotes innovation and smart risk taking at all levels and across all practical areas across DHS.

 

DHS leadership needs to make this change and place value on this change in culture. leader should lead change.

Develop Core Values and Hold Each Other Accountable

The OCHCO should have core values that everyone who works here agrees to uphold. These values can serve as the basis for how we treat each other and our Component counterparts. We can then hold each other accountable when a breach in values occurs.

telework in light of decrease in transit subsidy

In light of decrease of the monthly transit subsity from $230 to $125, I have a good number of co-workers that are feeling the pinch of having to pay the extra $100 per month. Implement an "Engage OCHCO" Initiative

I was just in a conference featuring Robert Buggs, the CHCO of the Dept. of Education. To improve employees engagement, they have implemented a program called "Engage Ed" with the following three elements. We need a program like this in the OCHCO: 1. Recommend using worksimple (www.getworksimple.com) to create social goals that can be shared throughout the OCHCO. These are the features of this free system: 1.
